Hardwoods are derived from deciduous trees, which are characterized by their seasonal shedding of leaves. Renowned for their density, strength, and durability, hardwoods are a popular choice for hospitality furniture. Their robust nature makes them resistant to wear and tear, ensuring longevity even in high-traffic or demanding environments
Common examples of hardwoods include:
Hardwood are denser and more resistant to dents, scratches, and wear, making them ideal for hospitality environments.
With proper care, hardwoods can last for decades, even in hospitality settings. Longevity
Softwoods are sourced from coniferous trees, commonly known as evergreens, which retain their foliage year-round. Compared to hardwoods, softwoods are generally lighter, less dense, and easier to work with, making them a versatile and cost-effective option for a variety of applications. However, due to their softer nature, clients should be mindful when considering softwoods as a veneer in hospitality applications, as they are more prone to denting and scratching compared to the durability of hardwoods.
Common examples of softwoods include:
Softwoods are more prone to dents, scratches, and ware, making them less suitable for hospitality use.
Softwoods typically have subtle grain patterns and colors than hardwoods, offering a more rustic or casual look.
Veneer is a thin layer of wood applied to a substrate, providing the look and feel of solid wood while offering greater stability and cost-efficiency. There are two main types of veneer:
Sliced directly from logs, natural veneer highlights the unique grain patterns, textures, and character of real wood, making each piece one of a kind.
Engineered to replicate the appearance of natural wood, composite veneer offers consistent patterns and colors, ensuring uniformity across projects.
Lightweight, versatile, and less prone to warping than solid wood, veneer is an excellent choice for achieving a premium wood aesthetic with enhanced durability and flexibility.
Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) is a versatile and cost-effective engineered wood product crafted from fine wood fibers, wax, and adhesive, compressed under heat and pressure to form a dense, uniform board. Unlike natural wood, MDF features a smooth, knot-free surface without visible grain patterns, making it an excellent choice for painted finishes. Its affordability, ease of use, and resistance to warping have made it a popular material for a wide range of applications. While standard MDF is not moisture-resistant, we exclusively use waterproof MDF options, specially treated for use in humid environments, further expanding its versatility and durability.
MDF is often make from recycled wood fibers and by-products, making it a more sustainable choice compared to solid wood. It maximizes the use of the wood resources and reduces waste.
MDF provides a perfectly smooth and consistent surface, making it an excellent base. Its lack of knots, grain, or imperfections ensures a flawless finish.
MDF is more affordable than solid wood or veneer, making it a budget friendly option.
Waterproof MDF resists, warping, shrinking, and expanding caused by temperature or humidity changes, ensuring long-lasting durability and a flawless finish.
